Tax fraud undermines the public interest and fairness among citizens. By reporting fraud, you are contributing to a fairer society and better use of public resources.
Two types of reporting are possible:
- As a citizen, for any type of tax fraud falling within the competence of the FPS Finance.
- As a whistleblower, if you work or have worked in the private sector and, in a professional context, have become aware of tax fraud.
Reports are treated as confidential and may be anonymous.

As a citizen
Have you been informed of tax fraud or have you witnessed tax fraud? Anyone can report tax fraud falling within the competence of the FPS Finance.

As a whistleblower from the private sector
Anyone working in the private sector can report tax fraud in case the information leading to it was obtained in a professional context, for example:
- Employees (current, former or future)
- Self-employed individuals
- Company executives, directors or shareholders
- Volunteers and interns, whether paid or unpaid
- People working for a subcontractor, supplier or contractor
Your report must relate to facts that are harmful to the public interest. If you meet the conditions set out in the law of November 28, 2022, relating to whistleblowers, you benefit from legal protection against any act of retaliation.
For more information in this regard, please refer to Circular 2026/C/39 and the websites of the Federal Ombudsman and the Federal Institute for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights.
The following are not covered by the law:
- Reports based solely on personal interest or private disputes, with no impact on the public interest (e.g. : non-payment of an invoice, delayed or incorrect payment of wages, etc.).
- Act of harassment or violence at work.
