Reporting a change of address or family situation (as a non-resident) - document to be provided

You are a non-resident and your address or your family situation has changed? Depending on your country of residence, you must provide a certain document.

France

Change of address: recent proof of the new address (for instance electronic communications or electricity bill)

Marriage: full copy of the marriage certificate

Partnership: original or certified copy of Pacs certificate (or birth certificate, if applicable)

End of partnership: the dissolution of the Pacs/French civil partnership contract is registered in the margin of your birth certificates (or on the register of the central civil status department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs if you were born abroad). You can request a birth certificate to check that the dissolution of the Pacs/French civil partnership contract has been added to the margin of your birth certificate.

Divorce:

  • full copy of the marriage certificate with mention of the divorce in the margin
  • proof (specifying the date) that the divorce has become final. You can obtain this proof in principle from the court registry.

Birth of a child: original document or certified copy of the birth certificate

Death: full copy of the death certificate

Netherlands

Change of address: recent proof of the new address (for instance “uittreksel uit het bevolkingsregister (de Basisregistratie personen)”)

Marriage: original document or certified copy of the marriage certificate

Partnership: Original document or certified copy of the partnership certificate.
We only acknowledge the registered partnership   (« geregistreerd partnerschap »). A cohabitation contract ("samenlevingscontract") is not enough to recognise you as "partners" for tax purposes.

End of partnership: original document or certified copy of any document proving the end of the partnership – deed, excerpt of civil status register, certificate, etc.

Divorce: original document or certified copy of the divorce deed

Birth of a child: original document or certified copy of the birth certificate

Death: original document or certified copy of the death certificate

Germany

Change of address: a recent proof of the new address (for instance « Meldebescheinigung » or « Einwohnermeldebescheinigung »)

Marriage: full copy of the marriage certificate

Divorce: full copy of the divorce deed

Birth of a child: full copy of the birth certificate

Death: full copy of the death certificate

Luxembourg

Change of address: recent proof of the new address (for instance a certificate of residence)

Marriage: full copy of the marriage certificate

Partnership: Partnership certificate

End of partnership: original document or certified copy of any document proving the end of the partnership – deed, excerpt of civil status register, certificate, etc.

Divorce:

  • If the marriage took place in the Luxembourg: certified copy of the Luxembourg marriage certificate mentioning the divorce judgement
  • If the marriage did not take place in the Luxembourg: certified copy of the transcription of the divorce in the registers of registry office of the city of Luxembourg

Birth of a child: Certified copy of the birth certificate

Death: Certified copy of the death certificate

Other countries

Change of address: certificate from the registry office

Marriage: original document or certified copy of the marriage certificate

Divorce: original document or certified copy of divorce judgement

End of partnership: original document or certified copy of any document proving the end of the partnership – deed, excerpt of civil status register, certificate, etc.

Birth of a child: original document or certified copy of the birth certificate
